SailTrace is an app for sailors to record, replay, and analyze their races so they can improve their tactics and performance.
You will record your races using the SailTrace mobile app. Then once the race is done you'll be able to replay it and see your stats on your phone and your computer.
The SailTrace app is only available on iOS right now. We expect to release an Android app eventually.
SailTrace uses advanced recording and processing techniques for race data, so while no tracking is perfect we get pretty close.
SailTrace requires a cellular data connection to function. This usually isn't a problem unless you're in the middle of the ocean.
SailTrace is optimized for battery efficiency, so if your device is charged you should be able to record hours worth of races.
Recording is always free. SailTrace Pro ($15/month or $80/year) unlocks the full debrief — fleet replay, start analysis, leg-by-leg performance, and race insights. Clubs and events can sponsor Pro access for their participants.
SailTrace works for one-design and PHRF fleets, and can be used during practice, at regattas, and during race series.
No. At this time SailTrace is only available in the United States.
