Review your race from a phone recording
Record with SailTrace on your iPhone to replay your route and review your speed and distance sailed. No extra hardware is needed.
With Pro, replay your race alongside the other boats that recorded. Compare your start, speed, and distance sailed. Follow the routes each boat took and see where you gained and lost against the fleet.
Keep the instruments you use while racing
Atlas 2 provides live distance-to-line and time-to-burn information, plus heading, heel, and pitch measurements. SailTrace does not replace those instrument functions. RaceSense events also offer live tracking and web replay.
SailTrace does not import Atlas files. Keep your existing equipment and make a separate recording on your iPhone to try SailTrace.
Common questions
- Can SailTrace replace a Vakaros Atlas 2?
- For making a phone recording and replaying your race, SailTrace is an option. It does not replace the Atlas 2’s live starting display or its heading, heel, and pitch measurements.
- Does Vakaros include race replay?
- Vakaros says RaceSense events support live tracking and web replay at no additional cost. It also lists partner apps for further analysis.
- Can I import Vakaros data into SailTrace?
- SailTrace does not import Vakaros Atlas files. SailTrace analyzes recordings made in its iPhone app.
- Is phone GPS as accurate as an Atlas 2?
- We have not run a controlled accuracy comparison between SailTrace and the Vakaros Atlas 2. Atlas 2 specifies a dual-band GNSS receiver and additional motion sensors. We do not claim SailTrace matches its measurement accuracy.
