Start with how you want to review a race. A personal replay, a coach’s fleet session, and a live spectator broadcast need different tools.

The Garmin and Strava comparisons explain how to make a separate SailTrace recording. There is no import or automatic sync between them and SailTrace.

Before you bring the fleet

Make one recording and watch it afterward. Check whether you can find a particular start or tack, which boats are visible, and whether the person running the debrief can access the replay.

Check the free tier as carefully as the subscription. A free personal replay is different from a free fleet replay. In SailTrace, recording and your own replay are free; fleet comparison requires Pro access and recordings from other boats in the race.

For a mixed fleet of phones, watches, and instruments, check platform and import support first. SailTrace records on iPhone and has no file import.
